Terms of service

1. Who we are

lovestruck is a service of Lovestruck Weddings (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/772149/07). Contact us at [email protected]. Full details are on our contact page.

2. The service

lovestruck lets couples build a wedding website, manage a guest list and RSVPs, send invitations and reminders, and use planning tools. Some features are only on paid plans; what each plan includes is shown on our pricing page at the time you buy.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Keep access to that email account secure; anyone who can read it can sign in.
• You can invite your partner, family or planner to help. You're responsible for what the people you invite do in your workspace.
• Please give us accurate details, and keep your email address up to date so we can reach you.

4. Plans and payment

• Free needs no card. You can edit your site and guest list for 12 months from when you sign up, and your published site stays online until 6 months after your wedding date. Upgrade to a paid plan to keep editing or keep your site online for longer.
• Paid plans are a once-off payment, not a subscription. Nothing renews or is charged automatically.
• A paid plan gives you the paid features and lets you edit your site and guest list for the editing period shown for that plan when you buy it.
• Upgrading from one paid plan to a higher one costs only the difference, and starts a new editing period.
• Prices are in South African rand. Lovestruck Weddings (Pty) Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the price you see is the full price.
• Payments are processed by PayFast. We never see or store your card details.
• We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a plan you've already paid for.

5. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 7 days of paying, as long as you haven't yet published your site or sent invitations. After that, refunds are at our discretion. The details are in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Your site stays live

When a paid plan's editing period ends, your published site stays online, read-only. We don't take it down or hold it hostage. To make changes again, you can renew. A Free site goes offline 6 months after your wedding date; upgrading brings it back. You can download all of your content at any time.

We intend to keep published sites online for as long as lovestruck operates. If we ever had to close the service, we would give account holders at least 90 days' notice by email so they could download everything.

7. Your content

• Everything you add, including text, photos, guest lists and voice notes, stays yours.
• You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run your site and the features you use. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that expire on their own.
• Only add content you have the right to use, such as photos you took or have permission to share.
• Guests' uploads to your photo wall are shared with you, and you can approve or remove them.

8. Your guests' information

When you add guests, you decide what information to collect about them and how to use it. You're responsible for using it fairly and lawfully, including only messaging guests who would expect to hear from you about your wedding. We process guest information on your behalf as described in our privacy policy.

9. Gift registries

Your site can link to external gift registries and show your own bank details for guests who want to give money directly. lovestruck does not receive, hold or process any registry money and is not a party to any transaction between you, your guests and a registry or bank. Any question about a gift is between you and the guest, retailer or bank involved.

10. Acceptable use

Don't use lovestruck to:

• do anything unlawful, or publish content that is defamatory, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
• infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or other rights;
• send spam or messages to people who haven't been invited to your wedding;
• attempt to break, overload or get around the security of the service.

If a site breaks these rules, we may remove the content or suspend the account. Where it's reasonable to, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

11. Availability

We work hard to keep lovestruck running smoothly, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We sometimes need to do maintenance, and our hosting and messaging providers can have outages. We may improve or change features over time; we won't take away a core feature of a plan you've paid for during its editing period.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim related to lovestruck is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act that can't legally be limited.

13. Closing your account

You can delete your workspace at any time from Settings. Deleting is permanent: your site, guest list, content and media are removed. We keep payment records only as long as the law requires. Deleting an account doesn't by itself entitle you to a refund; see the refund policy.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and email account holders before the change takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using lovestruck and delete your account.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at [email protected]; we'll do our best to sort it out quickly and fairly.
